DESCRIPTION:Amplifying Your Coaching Impact through Arts-Based Experiential Learning, presented by Fred Mandell, Ph.D., Ed.M.\nRoll up your sleeves!\nAs one participant put it: “Fred’s presentation literally turned my perspective upside down! He shared meaningful ways for art to enhance coaching and team building.”\nThis program will immerse participants in an arts-based experiential learning activity AND introduce them to the concepts and research that support arts-based experiential learning as a coaching methodology.\nThrough an interactive combination of experiential learning and debriefing; presentation, peer learning and discussion, and Q & A, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and begin to explore ways to apply these insights to their existing coaching practice.\nWe will examine an actual leadership development case to demonstrate the what, the how and the outcomes of selective coaching relationships. Participants will also learn about a breakthrough assessment instrument that directly and objectively measures the impact of Arts-Based Experiential Learning on the four foundational skills of innovation: Readiness to Learn, Cognitive Agility, Collaboration and Activating Innovation.\nLearning Objectives:\n– An understanding of the theory and science behind Arts-Based Experiential Learning.\n– Practical examples of arts-based experiential exercises immediately implementable by participants.\n– Enhanced ability to observe problems and challenges from different perspectives.\n– Introduction to a breakthrough method for measuring the impact of coaching on critical client skills.\n1.5 CCE units = 1.0 Core Competency + 0.5 Resource Development\n\nFred Mandell, Ph.D., Ed.M.\nFounder and principal of Creating Futures That Work, a consultancy committed to developing future ready leaders and coaches.\nPrior to establishing CFTW Fred served as a senior executive with American Express where he built leading marketing and sales businesses and ran a multi-billion-dollar investment company.\nFred’s life and work has been featured in the Public Television Series, Boomers; Redefining Life After 50. In addition, he has been featured or quoted in numerous national newspapers, magazine and TV media related to leadership, change and creativity, including Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Conference Board and Money Magazine.\nFred is the author of Can Art Save Us?  (2016, TGIAL)  He is also the co-author with Kathleen Jordan of Becoming a Life Change Artist; 7 Creative Skills to Reinvent Your Life at Any Stage (Penguin Avery.)  He has taught the number one rated leadership series at MIT Sloan School of Management called The Leader as Artist. Most recently Fred’s bronze self-portrait has been commissioned for the international conference on The Self/Le Soi co-sponsored by the University of Chicago and the Sorbonne.\nFred holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago and an Ed.M. in Psychology from Boston University. He has three grown children, six grandchildren, and lives in Lynnfield, Massachusetts with his wife Karen, a writer and teacher.\n
