DESCRIPTION:Coaching for Inclusion, presented by Dr. Christine Barnes\nIn this interactive session, participants will check in about their own experience of diversity and inclusion and hear about the latest findings of research on inclusionary practices of leaders and organizations.\nAlso, participants will discuss the implications of these findings for their own practice and discover new or enhanced techniques to embed an inclusion perspective in their coaching.\nLearning Objectives:\nBy the end of this session, participants will:\n– Gain foundational knowledge of the distinction between inclusion and diversity, to be applied when coaching clients on diversity and inclusion (D&I) topics.\n– Understand the value of role modelling the competency of “Cultivates Trust and Safety” with clients.\n– Gain new insights into how to embed an inclusion perspective into “Listens Actively” and “Evokes Awareness” competencies.\n– Share ideas on how they can expand on the “Facilitates Client Growth” competency by evoking action through the inclusion lens.\n1.5 Core Competency units\nDr. Christine Barnes, PCC\nFor over 25 years, Dr. Christine Barnes has enabled leaders and teams to design and implement organizational change initiatives. Combining organization development and coaching expertise, she influences the creation of mission, vision, strategy, and process improvement, and excels at connecting people and ideas in innovative ways.\nHer passion for inspiring others to see new possibilities led her to her doctoral research on inclusionary practices of leaders in STEM, where she studied the knowledge, motivation, and organizational support leaders need to build more inclusive environments and address enduring inequities of marginalized populations in organizations.
